Hey friends, you've been reading this blog. I hope you like it. But sometimes I don't know.
I don't see any comments at all. Who are you?
Am I writing rubbish or do you enjoy reading my blogs?
Any topics you'd like to know more about? More pictures?
I run into new things every day but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested.
It's also a forum for my friends to exchange ideas and opinions.
So, don't be shy. Say something. I'd like to hear from you.
Other future topics I have in mind:
Singapore (I'm going there next week on a business trip)
My Apartment or is it a hotel?
The lake where my apartment is, which has a surprising Arizona connection.
Tropical Fruits - durian, mangosteen, rambutan, longan, jackfruit, etc
What's for lunch? Where do I go eat and what do I eat?
My teammates - Tommy, Alan, Lenny, Henry, Victor, et al. Are they really Vietnamese?
Vietnamese Coffee
What's a xe om?
Hi Dad,
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed all of your posts so far. A couple of my friends have even started reading your blog. In your next post, can you take us through a typical day for you in Vietnam? Include everything you can from the transportation to the work environment in your office to the food you eat. I think it would all be interesting to know. Keep up the writing, I love getting updates!
Meng, your blog is great. It looks professional, is very interesting and is well written. It gives quite a bit of detail but the articles too long. Keep it up.

Hey, are you working or playing? I see a lot of sightseeing stuff on here. Almost makes me want to travel to Asia...

Hi, Meng. I got a pointer to your blog from Joe Czajkowski. Haven't read too much yet, but just at a glance I can see you have fantastic pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou wanted to know about how to get info on readers, etc. I know what you mean -- otherwise you feel like you're flying blind.
On my blog (http://perilsofparallel.blogspot.com/) I use two methods:
Easiest: Fire up the "Blogger in draft" dashboard. I use it, not sure how I got there to begin with, but if you google it I'm sure you'll find out how. On that, there's a link called "stats," which puts you on a page that lists hits, popular posts, countries from which hits came from, etc. Poke around, you'll like it.
The other way is by using StatCounter. I signed up for a free account (only 500 log entries max). Just follow the directions -- they give you some XML to cut and paste into your blog. If you go to the layout page and ask to see the XML, it's pretty obvious where to put it. Then your blog will report on hits to StatCounter.com, where you can display the same kinds of data - hit counts, countries, popular pages, etc., in a bit more detail than the "stats" link on Blogger in Draft.
As I said, I use both -- discovered StatCounter first, later found stats. So they don't interfere with each other.
Hope this helps!
Update -- dummy me -- the "blogger in draft" URL is http://draft.blogger.com/
ReplyDeleteJust log in as usual.
Thanks to all your comments so far. This is great. It gives me ideas on what to write. Like I said, everything is different. I can just go on and on.
ReplyDeleteJon: that's why I am here - for the experience. It's easy to travel around the region. All you need is fly a few hours and you'll be in a different country and culture.
Greg: good to hear from you. I'll see if I can get the counter to work.
All: Keep the comments coming.
